    Children should know the following before this exercise:

  • Type text
  • Font style(bold, italic, underline, font size, font name and align – left, right, centered).

    Create a document from scratch that looks like the given document - "Model of the exercise.odt". Students should retype the text and insert the picture from the image file. They should not copy any of these from the above document which shows the final result.


    Teacher Instruction
    1. Show the different types of newspapers and textbooks and explain to the students that these are all prepared using these kinds of text editors.
    2. Extract the file chess.rar to your desktop so that the required image file is available for the students on the desktop when doing the exercise.
    3. Even if it takes time, make the students type the text.
    4. Use the words “bold”, “italic”, “underline”. “font colour”, “font size”, “font type” etc. when teaching. They need to become familiar with these words.
